Dahlin House (c1907) 2824 Lechelt Road (moved)

This was the home of John Dahlin and family. Mr. Dahlin was born in Sweden in 1875 and emigrated to the U.S. in the late 1890s. He wandered his way across America from New York to British Columbia where he worked in the mines. He married his wife, Oline Jacobson Grovdal in 1902 and had three children between 1902 and 1907. In 1907, he decided to move his family to Hover. The 5-acres of land this home originally stood on was purchased from H. A. Hover for $1,750.

The 2-bedroom house was originally located 150 feet from the Columbia River, but was moved to its present location in 1957.
